“Combining fashion and tradition” That is the challenge of Santa Lupita. Created only a few months ago by Jorge Acevedo, his brand is my big crush of the year so far.
Santa Lupita offers exclusive handmade garments made in Mexico that preserve the traditional hand weaving and stitching of the country. The high quality of the garments and the know-how of the women who make the collection give this brand its uniqueness!
The dress that I am wearing took 1 week to make by the artisan Pilar from Oaxaca Valley in Southern Mexico. Like the rest of the collection, the dress is made of natural fibres and colours. With cotton and silk for this one, it is actually my favorite piece so far, even if I like all the products. It has been named "La Doña" related to the actress Maria Felix "La Doña", Mexico's cinema Style Icon from the 50's, internationally re-known for its beauty and elegance.
All the items are so colourful and the attention to detail on each garment is very impressive.
The goal of Santa Lupita is also to keep the tradition of hand made clothing alive as it is starting to disappear slowly in favour of mass production.
So I am very glad to talk about them today, and I am sure you will fall in love with this brand too!
