If you are looking for something unsual to do in Berlin, you should definitely go to visit abandoned places. This city is full of spots like that and they are incredible. It has become a new hobby of mine. Thanks to the website Abandoned Berlin you can find plenty of information about the different locations.
So I decided that I will write a post on each of the abandoned places I will visit and take pictures, so I have started with this one.
The Blub Berliner Luft- und Badeparadies, (Berlin Air and Bathing Paradise) was very famous in the past, it opened in 1985 and closed down in 2005 mainly because it had bad publicity due to hygiene problems, which resulted in a lack of visitors and then led to it being shut down.
This huge swimming pool complex is now a spot for skaters, graffiti artists and explorers.
I was amazed by it, there are so many rooms but I guess the place has become more and more damaged throughout the years. First question I had in my mind was why this place has been left like this? You can still see a lot documents, pictures, gym equipment and even sunbeds!
Here are some pictures. When you are inside it really feels that time has stopped...
